この講座の前期では、パリのマザリン図書館が所蔵している１４世紀の写本
「アリストテレスによる物理学の第８巻」の中から
ロンバルディックのエレガントなイニシャルを学びます。
次に、金粉・金箔・ガッシュを用いて、中世時代の古典スタイルのイニシャル
（ストーリー入りのもの）をクラスで２つ仕上げます。

後期では、自然の論理・古典と現在のデザインを併せて学びます。
自然の持つ、独特な色合いや・想像性を用いて、細密画入りのロンバルディックイニシャルを
バランスよく仕上げる事により、飾り文字に対する自信が益々深まるでしょう。

Step-by-step instruction shows the student how to draw the elegant Lombardic initials
used in Aristotle's "Libri Octo Physicorum" of the 14th century kept at the Mazarine Library in Paris.
Working with gold powder, gold leaves and gouache, two beautiful miniatures with "a story to tell"
will be executed in the classical style of the medieval age.
The second part of this course is based on naturalistic principles combining classic and modern elements.
This course will impart confidence to create and design
balanced decorated initials spiced with color and creativity.
